School history
year school was built: 1940
It is the oldest school in the city. It has been
renovated several times. Two more floors and a canteen have been
added to the building. First it was an ordinary secondary school,
then it became a specialized physics and mathematics school and its teachers
were famous all over the country. In 1992 the school got a status
of a gymnasium, a magnet school. To enter the school you have to
pass several special tests. The students get an in-depth knowledge
of two foreign languages - English, French or German - mathematics, physics,
Russian and Belorussian languages and literature. Many students take
part in different international competitions with great success.
Our school's name is for the defenders of the Brest Fortress. On
the first floor of the school there is a museum of the defenders of the
Brest Fortress and also of the young heroes who took part in World War
II. We have many pen-pals in different cities and countries.
Many students from other schools come to visit our museum.

- health topic:
"AIDS"
. Sister school name:
Miami Senior High School
. Short information about health education
project
Health survey revealed that our students have
a good deal of information on the topic of AIDS. The majority of students
realize that only responsibility and pride can save people from the plaque
of the XX-th century. Most students understand that once being infected
you can infect other people, even their nearest and dearest. The survey
revealed that in spite of having quite a good deal of information about
AIDS teen-agers still need further discussion on the ways AIDS can and
cannot be transferred, on the way of protections and symptoms.
