The first of September is the Day of knowledge in Russia. On that day students go to schools and institutes.
They meet their teachers, greet each other, have meetings and after that they begin their studies.
In March at our gymnasium we celebrate the Day of Labor. For this holiday each class stages a performance. It can be a play written by great
authors: William Shakespeare, A. Pushkin, Moliere, etc. You can visit any performance you like. After that we have different games, organized by
our students and teachers. Then at a special meeting our best students are given their certificates of achievements.
Each year in autumn students of our school spend a day outside Moscow. We go by a local train to some picturesque place
in the forest. There we have different sports and funny competitions, for example, collecting garbage, rope pulling, running
in the forest. The most interesting competition is getting one's bearings.
In autumn we have a football championship called 'Orange cup", organized by Boris V. Kozulin. Pupils from 7 to 11 classes
can participate in it. The winner gets a Cup full of sweets.
October, 31 is the time of Halloween. At our school it is the time for fun. On that day many
students are dressed in old and funny clothes and put horrible masks on their faces.
They joke and frighten other students.
'I'll be your sweetheart, if you will be mine, All of my life I'll be your Valentine...'
On February, 14 we celebrate the Saint Valentine's day. At our school we have post-boxes and postmen. Students can send Valentine postcards to their sweethearts, and be sure they will get them.
